World Cup underway in Warilla

The World Bowls World Cup got underway on Tuesday at Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club in New South Wales, Australia, and runs until 13th March.

Scotland's Carla Banks and John Fleming opened their campaign with wins in the first round.

Banks beat Fiji’s Litia Tikoisuva 7-5 14-1, and Fleming beat Matt Le Ber of Guernsey 7-6 9-3.

In the second round, Fleming beat South Africa’s Wayne Rittmuller 9-6 7-9 2-1, whilst Banks was beaten 5-13 12-5 2-4 by Shermeen Lim of Singapore.
