COVID-19 Club Crisis Fund
Bowls Scotland has launched a Club Crisis Fund to provide Grants to clubs that find themselves in financial difficulties directly as a result of COVID-19. The main aim of the fund is to help clubs to stabilise and manage cash flows over this difficult period.
Clubs can ordinarily apply for up to a maximum of £1,000, though larger sums may be considered in exceptional circumstances. The deadline for applications is Friday 26th June 2020.
The Club Crisis Fund is open to all our member clubs, however we will look to prioritise:
- Clubs at risk of losing their facilities
- Clubs who are ineligible or have been unsuccessful applying for the Scottish Governments Business Support Grant
- Clubs in areas of high social deprivation
- Club that have low levels of cash reserves
- Clubs that cannot negotiate better terms with suppliers and contractors
Clubs should read the Guidance Notes and all applications for the Club Crisis Fund should be made in conjunction with Bowls Scotland’s National Development Officers Stuart, Daniel and Lawra:
Bowls Scotland Chair, Sue Beatt, said: “I’m delighted to launch the Club Crisis Fund, available to all our member clubs. The Bowls Scotland Board have approved a total pot of £50,000 to aid our clubs most in need of financial support during these difficult and unprecedented times.
“Bowling clubs in Scotland play a massive role in connecting local communities. It is our duty to protect all our clubs and allow them to have a sustainable future where our wonderful game continues to thrive. I would like to encourage all Bowls Scotland clubs that are in need of financial assistance or have been unable to obtain any external funding to apply for the Club Crisis Fund.
“Our National Development Officers, Lawra, Stuart and Daniel continue to offer invaluable support and advice to many of our clubs and will be on hand to support clubs throughout the application process.”
