Scotland team announced for 2025 Youth Internationals

Bowls Scotland is delighted to announce the players that have been selected to represent Scotland at the 2025 Youth Internationals.

The Youth International Series will be contested between Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales on Sunday 20th and Monday 21st July at the National Centre for Bowling, Ayr, Scotland. A total of 16 players have been selected, consisting of an equal split of eight under 18 male players and eight under 18 female players.

During the event, the 16 players will be split into various pairs, triples and fours teams. Scotland will be hoping to retain the title they brilliantly won at Belmont Bowling Club, Belfast, Northern Ireland at last year’s series.

Six of 2024’s winning team return to this year’s squad with Amy Blyth, Logan Fraser, Abbie Harris, Emily Houston, Logan Kennedy and Kayden Young all retaining their places. Accompanying them in the team will be the 10 new caps of Teigan Brown, Chloe Buchanan, Corey Cadger, Kyle Dalrymple, Thomas Jamieson, Hannah McDermott, Astyn McKechnie, Ryan Turnbull, Meghan Wallace and Jessica Young.

Bowls Scotland’s U18 Pathway Lead, Julie Forrest, said: “I am delighted to be involved with the under 18 Scottish team again this year.

“The under 18 international series provides a great introduction to high level competitive bowling. As part of the development of our top junior bowlers our aim is to introduce this experience to as many of them as we can.

“This year, after a competitive assessment day in June, we have selected a squad of 16 players, 10 of whom are representing Scotland for the first time.

“As the series is being played at home this year, it would be great if as many people as possible could come along and show their support for their young national team.”
