National Volunteer Awards Winners

We launched the inaugural Bowls Scotland National Volunteer Awards in June after celebrating National Volunteer’s Week. We were delighted to receive 42 entries all of which showcased the passion, hard work and dedication that exists amongst the bowling community, thank you to everyone who submitted nominations.

Huge congratulations to the winners of the first round of National Volunteer Awards:

Katrina Wallace – Dunning BC

Coral & Grant Gifford – Freuchie BC

Peter Alexander – Laurieston BC

And Bob Ferenth – Nairn BC

The winners will all receive a special National Volunteer Awards trophy and we will create a profile on each winner highlighting the areas in which they have excelled to help grow the sport of bowls and improve their clubs. Keep an eye out for these on our website and social media over the coming months.

Our panel had a tough time narrowing the nominations down to just four winners as the calibre of entrants was so high. We have created a role of honour to acknowledge all of those who were nominated and their clubs which is available here. We are happy for anyone who has already received a nomination to be voted for again, so if you feel that a volunteer at your club missed out, submit another form with more information for our panel on all that they do for the club!

Nominations are currently open for the second round of National Volunteer Awards, there are just 7 questions to complete on our online survey to nominate someone you think deserves recognition. Remember that our panel can only base their decisions on the applications submitted, so try to include as much information on why you believe your candidate is a great volunteer. Entries can be made via the following link before 1st November 2021 https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BSVolunteerAward
