2025 British Bowls U18 Internationals - Day One Report
The 2025 British Bowls U18 Internationals got underway at the National Centre for Bowling, Ayr today. Hosts Scotland are in contention to win back-to-back series’ courtesy of their three victories from four matches on day one.
Session One
Scotland made a strong start to the event, recording three wins from four triples matches in their opening encounter against Ireland to claim a 10-2 victory.
Chloe Buchanan, Amy Blyth & Logan Kennedy notched up Scotland’s largest winning margin, getting the better of Shannon Cannon, Brooke Stirling & Alex Jones 18-12.
The Scots next two victories came from the triples of Jessica Young, Ryan Turnbull & Thomas Jamieson and Kayden Young, Abbie Harris & Kyle Dalrymple, who both chalked up 2-shot wins each.
Meghan Wallace, Emily Houston & Logan Kennedy suffered a 10-14 defeat against Erin Fraser, Kyle Murphy & Diare Trainor. With the Scottish trio only losing narrowly by four shots, this ensured Scotland still clinched the four additional points for the overall score.

Session Two
In the second session of the day Scotland suffered a narrow 4-8 defeat to England, securing wins in two of the four triples encounters, unfortunately losing the overall score 62-71.
Bouncing back from his defeat in the first session, Logan Fraser skipped his triple of Meghan Wallace & Abbie Harris to a convincing 23-12 win over Daria Rampelt, Kacee Sultman & Sam Brugnoli.
Emily Houston, Corey Cadger & Kyle Dalrymple secured Scotland’s second victory of the session as they got over the winning line 20-19 against Sophie Wood, Vinnie Minter & Alfie Hollan.
Scotland’s two triples of Chloe Buchanan, Amy Blyth & Logan Kennedy and Jessica Young, Ryan Turnbull & Thomas Jamieson both lost out by 11 shots and 10 shots respectively.

Session Three
Responding brilliantly from their setback against England, Scotland produced a spirited display to defeat Wales in all four triples matches to claim maximum points.
The two Scottish triples consisting of Meghan Wallace, Abbie Harris & Logan Fraser and Chloe Buchanan, Amy Blyth & Logan Kennedy both chalked up impressive 8-shot victories each.
Next to get over the winning line was Hannah McDermott, Kyle Malcolmson & Thomas Jamieson, who saw off the challenge of Libby Harris, Sophie Regan & Billy Flynn 17-14.
After a lengthy rain delay, Emily Houston, Corey Cadger & Kyle Dalrymple fought back from behind to beat Rhianna Thompson, Cara Dunne & Oliver Price 15-14 at the last end.

Session Four
After several torrential rain downpours throughout the day, the final session of the day was reduced to a one hour and 15 minutes time limit.
The young Scottish side showed plenty of skill and stamina to once again get the better of Wales, this time clinching three wins from the four matches being contested in the pairs and fours disciplines.
Abbie Harris & Logan Fraser combined well together in the pairs to overcome Rhianna Thompson & Jack Davies 14-12.
Sadly, Emily Houston and Logan Kennedy couldn’t replicate this result in their pairs game as they were beaten 5-19 against Libby Harris and Elijah Minett in difficult conditions.
Both Scottish fours of Hannah McDermott, Meghan Wallace, Kyle Malcolmson & Thomas Jamieson and Jessica Young, Amy Blyth, Corey Cadger & Kyle Dalrymple notched up commanding victories respectively, ensuring a crucial 10-2 overall win for Scotland.
