Rice and Hoggan make Champion of Champions play-offs

Martyn Rice and Dee Hoggan had a great week at the World Singles Champion of Champions at St John's Park, New South Wales, Australia, with Dee reaching the semi-finals and Martyn the play-off stage.

Over the week, Dee had nine wins (and one bye) and three defeats in section one of the draw, before beating Namibia's Marietjie Van Den Berg in the play-offs. In the semi-final, Dee battled against Nurul Alyani Jamil of Malaysia, who won 10-3 8-5.

In section two of the draw, Martyn had ten wins and three defeats to make the play-offs, where he was beaten 8-3 7-6 by eventual finalist Tony Cheung of Hong Kong China.

Both Dee and Martyn played some wonderful bowls throughout the competition and represented Scotland with pride and determination.
