Ardeer Recreation BC receive Bowls Mark Bronze Award
Ardeer Recreation Bowling Club in Stevenston, North Ayrshire, has now received their Bronze Award in the Bowls Scotland Bowls Mark Club Accreditation Scheme.
The club has been working hard over the last few months to meet the criteria required to gain the Bowls Mark Bronze Award and were presented with a plaque this week to reward their hard work.
Ardeer Rec BC Gents President, John Sneider, said: “The Bowls Mark Bronze Award was a useful scheme for our club to complete because it suddenly made us think about our club and our procedures and helped bring things up to date.
“It certainly helped with our Try Bowls campaign and we’ve had a lot of younger people coming along to those sessions. The club being recognised for its good practice will benefit us in the years to come by gaining additional funding from local authorities.
“I would certainly recommend the Bowls Mark Accreditation Scheme to other clubs as it makes you think about what your club is doing to have a sustainable future.”
There are now four clubs throughout Scotland that have obtained the Bronze Award in the Bowls Mark Club Accreditation Scheme which are Nairn BC, Ailyth BC, Ardeer Rec BC & Prestwick Howie BC.
