SYBA Update
Over the last few months, Bowls Scotland and the Scottish Young Bowlers Association (SYBA) have been working closely to finalise their agreed merge in 2022.
A full review of the SYBA’s structure and competitions is being carried out so they can be effectively incorporated into Bowls Scotland’s strategy. This will allow the best opportunities for our upcoming players to develop their skills both on and off the green.
To ensure the merge is completed, we are pleased to announce that we will launching a recruitment process to find 32 District Youth Co-Ordinators, one for every Bowls Scotland district throughout the country. This will be in addition to the existing District Co-Ordinator structure for the men’s and ladies’ sides of the game. The previous SYBA ‘District Convenor’ roles will be replaced with the new District Youth Co-Ordinators.
District Youth Co-Ordinators will be a vital member of the Bowls Scotland volunteer team, encouraging youth participation at local clubs as well as planning National Championship youth qualifiers and other events within each district.
Our recruitment process will include open applications and an informal interview stage before the successful District Youth Co-Ordinator is confirmed. This recruitment process will officially be opened in the coming weeks so keep your eyes on Bowls Scotland’s website and social media pages for updates on the recruitment launch.
In the meantime, if anyone wishes to enquire about the District Youth Co-Ordinator role, please contact our Coach & Volunteer Manager, Adam Martin, via adammartin@bowlsscotland.com or 07591 825874.
