Women's Over 55 Internationals Announcement

Scotland, Wales and Jersey have agreed to launch an annual outdoor Over 55 Women’s International Series, with the first ever event taking place in 2021.

This decision was taken following on from the new agreed format to the BIWBC Junior and Senior Internationals. The new Over 55 Women’s Internationals will continue to allow players from the three countries, within this age bracket, to represent their country at a competitive level.  

All outdoor international bowls in the UK in 2020 had to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This presented an opportunity to implement new changes to our sport to help encourage participation within all age groups and abilities.

More details on the competition format, dates and venues will be released in the coming months once agreed by a Committee of representatives from the three nations.
