Scotland Level on Points After Day 1 at Para Tri Nations International Series

Scotland sit level on points at the top of the table after an entertaining opening day at the Para Tri Nations International Series at Solihull Indoor Bowls Club.

Captained by Sarah Jane Ewing, Scotland fielded a strong line-up across the opening three sessions of the competition, with plenty still to play for heading into the final day.

Session 1

England 4 – 6 Ireland

The tournament began with Ireland edging out England in a competitive opener, claiming a 6–4 victory to set the early pace.

Session 2

Ireland 2 – 8 Scotland

Scotland responded in impressive fashion in their first outing of the event. A dominant team display saw them win four of the five disciplines, securing an 8–2 victory over Ireland and firmly announcing themselves in the title race.

Session 3

Scotland 3 – 7 England

In the final session of the day, Scotland faced a strong England side. Despite a difficult spell, a determined fightback late in the session ensured three valuable points were secured, keeping Scotland firmly in contention.

Standings After Session 3

  • England – 11 pts (+48 shots)

  • Scotland – 11 pts (+3 shots)

  • Ireland – 8 pts (-51 shots)

Scotland currently sit second on shots difference, level on points with England at the top of the standings.

With three sessions remaining, the Tri Nations title remains very much in reach.
