2023 European Open in partnership with Erskine underway

The 2023 Bowls Scotland European Open in partnership with Erskine is now underway at the National Centre for Bowling, Ayr.

120 pairs will be competing in today’s group stages so if you’re at a loose end come along and watch some of the UK’s best players battle it out!

The teams have been split into 30 sections of four teams, the 30 section winners and two highest runners-up will advance to tomorrow’s knockout stages. Sections 1 to 15 play at 10am, 1pm & 4pm, Sections 16 to 30 play at 11.30am, 2.30pm & 5.30pm.

STV News will also be covering the event and broadcasting live from the Ayrshire coast at around 6.20pm this evening. Their sports reporter, Ronnie Charters, has teamed up with four-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Paul Foster MBE, and they are currently in action in Section 3.
