Steve McGillivary Appointed Bowls Scotland Competitions Manager

Bowls Scotland is delighted to announce the appointment of Steve McGillivary as our new Competitions Manager.

Steve brings considerable experience of competition delivery to the role, having served as a Bowls Scotland District Coordinator for the past eight years. He has also been a member of the National Championships delivery team for several years, giving him strong practical knowledge of our competitions and the work required behind the scenes to deliver them successfully.

As Competitions Manager, Steve will lead the delivery and continued development of Bowls Scotland’s national competitions programme. He will work closely with clubs, District Coordinators, officials, volunteers and staff to ensure competitions are delivered effectively and provide a positive experience for everyone involved.

Steve will support the continued modernisation and development of our competitions. He will also play a central role in planning and delivering the National Championships and other competitions throughout the season.

Steve McGillivary said: “I was delighted to be offered the position of Competitions Manager and am excited to bring my years of experience to Bowls Scotland. I look forward to serving the bowling community, working with clubs and members across the country, and helping to drive the sport forward in a positive and progressive way.”

“He is a well-known face in the bowls community, with eight years of experience as a District Coordinator and extensive involvement in the delivery of Bowls Scotland and local competitions. This experience gives him a strong understanding of the needs of our players, clubs and volunteers as he helps shape the future delivery of our competitions.”
