Inchture BC celebrate Ann Milton, 2025 Over-55 Ladies National Champion

Following a narrow defeat in the 2024 Ladies Over 55 Singles Final, Inchture BC’s Ann Milton fought her way back to the 2025 Championships in Ayr and went one further, taking the title and trophy back to the Perth-based club.

Friends, family and fellow members helped celebrate this homecoming with a surprise party last Saturday night at the club, with Ann being piped into the club to cheers and applause!

We contacted Ann to find out what the support from her club and winning the national title means to her, she said:

“Our club is in the small village of Inchture and we have approximately 75 members and a fantastic junior section of around 25 to 30 kids attending our junior coaching each week. So the support from the club, not only this year but in previous years when myself and others have qualified for the National Championships, has been immense and it means so much to me. My husband Dave, my daughters Lee and Linsey and all my family and friends have also been amazing with their support and of course this also means the world to me to have them there sharing in my success.

“Walking into the club on Saturday night with my Gold Medal and Trophy felt so lovely, but the surprise I got when I saw and heard the Piper Neil along with the cheers from family, friends and members was totally overwhelming and certainly brought tears to my eyes! It was a joyous night and everyone had a fantastic time!

“I love coming to Ayr for the atmosphere and vibe and the genuine friendliness of people you meet from all over Scotland! After having qualified for the National Championships 6 times - 3 in the Ladies Singles and 3 in the Over 55 Singles, and winning Bronze and Silver in the Over 55's, to this year go that one step further and achieve Gold was the most euphoric feeling. And to hear myself described as a Scottish National Champion is the icing on the cake!”
