Marchmount BC member raises £3,000 for Prostate Scotland
Marchmount Bowling Club in Dumfries held an internal pairs competition on Sunday 30th May to help assist a member of the club raising funds for Prostate Scotland.
Club member, Bobby Jess, has now completed his inspiring challenge of running 1084 miles in just 107 days, which is the equivalent distance from Lands' End to John O’Groats. £200 was raised from the competition with many members of the club also making individual donations. Bobby has now raised over an incredible £3,000 for the charity!
Prostate Scotland provide information, advice and help on prostate health and treatments. Nearly 1 in 2 men in Scotland will be affected by prostate disease at some stage of their lives and 1 in 10 are likely to develop prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in Scotland. Their mission is to ‘inform, educate, support, campaign and advance on prostate disease in Scotland’.
