Nationals Stories - Pauline Wilson

Lookout for Pauline Wilson (Willowbank), who is through to the quarter-finals of the Women’s Over 55 Singles and is currently playing against Isobel Laing (Elgin) on Green A Rink 5.

Pauline is part of the Para-Bowls High Performance programme and has this year qualified for the National Finals in an able-bodied discipline which is a fantastic achievement. She unfortunately had to have her left leg amputated 5 years ago but has not let this hold her back and her bowling career has gone from strength to strength!

Originally from Wales, Pauline competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games representing her native country and also played for Wales at the indoor Women’s Senior Internationals in 2018. This is a great example of bowls being a sport for everyone and we are inspired to hear of Pauline’s story.

We wish Pauline all the best in her game this afternoon and future events!
