Podium Open Pairs Qualifiers Confirmed

Bowls Scotland’s latest Podium events took place over the weekend, with players competing in the Podium Open Pairs across Sighthill Bowling Club, Whitehall Bowling Club and Hamilton Caledonian Bowling Club.

The Podium Open Pairs form part of Bowls Scotland’s Drive to Success – Player Pathway, providing players with the opportunity to enter the national selection process. Performances at these events are used to identify athletes who will progress into the next stage of assessment for International Squads.

Qualifiers from the weekend and those who have performed strongly will be invited forward to Senior, U25 or U18 assessment days, where they will undertake a combination of drills, gameplay and further evaluation. This process will inform the selection of Scotland squads for the 2026/27 programme.

Bowls Scotland selectors will contact those invited to Senior National Assessment Weekend this week. Communication for U18 assessments will follow in the coming weeks, with U25 assessment information later in the season.

The assessment dates are as follows:

Senior Assessment Weekend – Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June
U18 Assessment Day – Sunday 21st June
U25 Assessment Day – Saturday 15th August
