Virtual National Championships 2020
Bowls Scotland are delighted to announce that we will be running a ‘Virtual National Championships’ from Sunday 26th July – Saturday 1st August on our social media pages and website.
This was the original dates of the 2020 National Championships which have unfortunately been cancelled because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. However, we hope that all the content and memories shared over the coming week shows the togetherness that makes our sport so special and we can’t wait to welcome you all back to the National Centre for Bowling in 2021.
Whether it be player profiles or TV news features we’ll do our best to make sure we bring the Championships to life from the comfort of your own home!
Bowls Scotland Competitions & Events Manager, Claire Johnston, said: “The National Championships is undoubtedly the biggest annual event on the Scottish bowls calendar with over 12,000 players and spectators passing through the gates over the week.
“Whilst it’s unfortunate that this year’s finals have had to be cancelled, everyone’s safety and wellbeing has to be our number one priority. The Virtual National Championships will hopefully help to remind everyone of the great memories they have at Northfield meeting up with family, friends and supporting fellow club mates.
“Be sure to check in on our social media pages and website over the week with all the amazing content we will be posting, and we look forward to seeing you all in 2021.”
