Thank You Frontline Workers - Campaign Launch

Bowls Scotland are delighted to launch our new ‘Thank You Frontline Workers’ campaign for the remainder of the 2020 season.

The main objective of this campaign is to reward and show appreciation to our frontline workers that have worked tirelessly over the last few months. This means we will be encouraging all our clubs throughout Scotland to offer free membership to new members and celebrate their frontline contribution over the last four months.

We hope as many of our clubs as possible get on board with the campaign and welcome these inspiring people into their club and our sport with open arms. Bowling clubs are at the heart of every local community and have a crucial role to play in creating social cohesion and re-connecting people after this difficult time.

Bowls Scotland CEO, Alan McMillan, said: “I’m extremely excited to launch this campaign to all bowling clubs across Scotland.

“We feel it’s important for our sport to play our part in rewarding frontline workers and show that we are thankful and indebted to them. The hard work, dedication and bravery these people have shown is incredible and without them the country would not have been able to operate effectively during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Bowls truly is a wonderful sport that is open to friends, families and people of all ages and abilities. I don’t know any other sport that can offer people the togetherness and community spirit that bowls can.

“We have 842 member clubs and 55,000 playing members throughout Scotland, and I’d encourage all of them to get on board with this campaign and show people the amazing opportunities that our sport has to offer.”
