Katherine Ord appointed Performance Co-Ordinator

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Katherine Ord as Bowls Scotland’s Performance Co-Ordinator.

Katherine joins Bowls Scotland after spending the last 12 years working in the public sector. Prior to that, Katherine has worked for the NHS and University of Glasgow, where her main role was promoting physical activity. Katherine has a strong understanding of the benefits sport can provide people of all ages after spending many years playing, coaching and volunteering in netball.

In her role as Performance Co-Ordinator, Katherine will provide planning and administrative support for the Bowls Scotland High Performance team, supporting effective delivery of the performance programme.

Looking forward to starting her new post, Katherine said: “I am excited about the opportunity to work within lawn bowls and look forward to playing my part in ensuring that the sport continues to grow and be enjoyed by all.

“Throughout my career I have honed my skills in communication, problem solving, analysing and interpreting data and inspiring confidence in others. I hope to be able to bring these skill sets to Bowls Scotland and play my part in helping to achieve our 2024-2028 strategy.”

Bowls Scotland Head of High Performance Bowls, Kareena Cuthbert, added: “We are delighted with Katherine’s appointment and look forward to her being a key contributor to the quality of delivery of our performance programme.”
