2023 World Bowls Champion of Champions - Day Four Round Up

Darren Gualtieri’s impressive run at the 2023 World Champion of Champions continued overnight as he advanced to tomorrow’s semi-finals in the Men’s Singles.

Having already qualified for the knockout stages going into his last group match, the Scot was keen to keep up his fine form which is exactly what he did against Spain’s Terry Morgan. Darren clinched a comfortable straight sets victory to advance from Section 2 in second place.

Next up in the quarter-final was a hard-fought tussle with Sheldon Bagrie-Howley from New Zealand. The spoils were shared by both players in the opening two sets before Darren held his nerve to win the deciding set 5-4 to seal his place in tomorrow’s semi-finals.

Darren will take on England’s Ed Morris in what should be a mouthwatering contest at 12am (BST) on Saturday 16th September. The match will be available to watch on the World Bowls Facebook live stream. If successful, the final will take place straight after the semi-finals at 2am.

Best of luck to Darren in his quest to be crowned champion for 2023! Be sure to tune in and give him your support.
