Bowls Scotland hosts workshops across the country

Bowls Scotland is hosting workshops in different locations across the country in the coming months, whilst also working with other national bodies to provide helpful and relevant courses to club coaches and volunteers.

These workshops and courses will replace the National Club Development Conference, which Bowls Scotland held for the last three years. It has been decided that a focus on locally held events will better serve clubs.

The first of these club and coach workshops was held at Stirling Indoor BC last Sunday to great success, and others will take place at Glasgow Indoor BC and Inverness and District Indoor BC in March and April.

Bowls Scotland has also been working with Disability Sport Scotland to identify demand and run bowls inclusion workshops locally, with the next one in Aberdeen on Sunday 11th March.

The next phase of the Introduction to Bowls Coaching Award is being planned with the Scottish Indoor Bowls Association, and dates will be announced in the near future.

Bowls Scotland is also running child protection workshops across the country to help clubs ensure they are safe and welcoming places for young people to play bowls.

If coaches and volunteers cannot get to courses or there is higher demand in specific areas, the Bowls Scotland development team is committed to trying to meet this demand.
