Commercial Director Announcement
Bowls Scotland is delighted to announce the appointment of James Laws to the board as the new Commercial Director.
James has over 25 years’ experience in the food and drink industry, having held senior roles within Sainsbury’s Supermarkets and as a Trading Director for Musgrave Retail Partners in Northern Ireland. James currently works as the Managing Director of a specialist Scottish Wholesale food and drink company.
Having been a member of Raploch B.C. in Larkhall for over 10 years, James is looking to give something back to the sport he loves by helping Bowls Scotland and its members clubs secure more business and commercial opportunities.
He said: “I think coming from a bowling background will help give me a better understanding in terms of where clubs really are commercially. I am keen to see how Bowls Scotland can give more support for its members by creating better revenue streams for clubs.”
James continued: “For bowls to be vibrant in Scotland we need to be more commercially driven and I look forward to working with clubs and partners to improve the commercial viability for our members.”
Chair of Bowls Scotland, Sue Beatt, said: “I’m delighted that James is joining the Board as the new Commercial Director. He brings a wealth of experience in this sector and this confirms the Boards commitment to bring skilled individuals to our sport to assist with improving the game throughout Scotland. James will bring his expertise and enthusiasm, which will make him a welcome addition to the Board.”
