Bob Christie steps down as Para Bowls Co-Ordinator & Head Coach
Last Friday, the Bowls Scotland staff took time to say cheerio to Bob Christie, who leaves his role as Para Bowls Co-Ordinator and Para Head Coach after almost five years in post.
We shared stories and reflected on his achievements during his time working with Bowls Scotland. We will miss him, but we know he will still be involved in bowls through his role as Chair of Bowls Europe.
Bob has been a champion for inclusion within bowls and has been an invaluable member of our team. Celebrated for coaching Scotland’s para players to a historic hat-trick of gold medals at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, he has been a fantastic ambassador for our sport. As a former Bowls Scotland Director of Development and District Co-Ordinator he has helped to shape the game at a strategic and operational level, in a positive, encouraging, and supportive manner.
As we look towards 2024, we will take time to review the Para Bowls Co-Ordinator role and assess what support is required in this area.
