Lawra Cox to leave Bowls Scotland after 10 years

Competitions Manager, Lawra Cox will be leaving her role at Bowls Scotland at the end of the 2026 National Championships.

Lawra is moving on to take up a new opportunity outside the sports sector. Lawra has been with Bowls Scotland for almost 10 years in a variety of different roles including Office Manager and National Development Officer, before taking on the role of Competitions Manager in 2022.

The 2026 National Championships will be her fourth as Competitions Manager, as the event continues to thrive. She oversaw the full range of Bowls Scotland competitions and was responsible for the introduction of a new Under 21 Challenge Cup in 2025, responding to the views of young people in the sport.

Lawra has worked with and supported hundreds of volunteers to deliver our competitions, including a dedicated cohort of District Coordinators and District Youth Coordinators.

Reflecting on her time with Bowls Scotland, Lawra said:

“I have really enjoyed my time at Bowls Scotland and feel lucky to have spent the last ten years working in a sport I love. I have had the opportunity to work with so many fantastic people, from colleagues and volunteers to clubs and players, and I would like to thank everyone for their support over the years. I am proud of what we have achieved together, particularly in developing our competition calendar and creating new opportunities for bowlers. While I am looking forward to a new challenge, I will always look back on my time at Bowls Scotland with great memories."

“From the first day of working together, Lawra’s passion for and commitment to the sport shone through. That will be on show again as she works with the wider team to deliver another memorable National Championships in August. Bowls Scotland will open a recruitment process for a new Competitions Manager in due course following the National Championships.
