Vacancy: Performance Pathway Coordinator

Bowls Scotland is the national governing body for the sport of bowls in Scotland. We are committed to developing athletes, coaches and performance environments that support success on the national and international stage. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Performance Pathway Coordinator to help deliver the next phase of our athlete development pathway.

Since the introduction of our new Podium Pathway in 2024, we have worked to create a more transparent, accessible and inclusive route to athlete identification, development and selection. With increased sportscotland investment, new Performance Centres being established and our coaching and support team continuing to grow, this is an exciting time to join the Bowls Scotland performance programme.

We are looking for a highly organised individual who can manage multiple priorities and is passionate about supporting athlete development. Excellent communication and administration skills are essential, alongside the ability to build positive relationships with athletes, coaches, volunteers and partner organisations.

In this role, you will coordinate the planning, administration, communications and operational arrangements required to deliver our Performance Centres and wider pathway activities. This will include maintaining programme schedules and records, managing athlete registrations, coordinating travel and event logistics, preparing programme information and supporting the collection of athlete and participation data.

You will also act as a key point of contact for athletes, coaches and pathway stakeholders, helping to ensure information is communicated clearly and activities are delivered effectively. By working closely with the Head of High Performance and the wider performance team, you will play an important role in supporting positive and well organised development experiences for Scotland’s current and future international athletes.

This permanent, part-time role is primarily based at the National Centre for Bowling, Northfield, Ayr. Bowls Scotland operates a flexible working policy, meaning a combination of home and office working can be considered. The role is 22.5 hours per week and requires occasional evening and weekend work, as well as occasional travel throughout Scotland to support programme delivery.

Bowls Scotland has a set of values, outlined within our Corporate Strategy and available on our website. We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace where we can embrace and value individuality. We are committed to employment practices that promote diversity and inclusion and encourage all applications regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, sex, marriage and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity status, race, religion or belief.
