Vacancy - Competitions Manager
Bowls Scotland is proud to be one of the largest participation sports in Scotland, with over 800 clubs and 48,000 members forming the backbone of our game. We are seeking an ambitious, organised and forward-thinking Competitions Manager to lead the delivery and ongoing development of our national competitions programme.
Our competitions provide opportunities for bowlers at all levels and culminate in our prestigious National Championships, which showcase the very best of the game. This role is about ensuring our competitions are delivered to the highest standard while identifying opportunities to modernise systems, improve processes and enhance the experience for participants, volunteers and clubs.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with experience in planning, administering and delivering bowls competitions. You should be an excellent communicator who is confident working with volunteers, clubs and stakeholders. Strong administrative and organisational skills are essential, along with excellent attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
In this role, you will lead and oversee the delivery of all Bowls Scotland competitions and help develop a clear competitions strategy aligned with the organisation’s wider objectives. You will manage and support a network of volunteers, including District Coordinators and Competition Coordinators, while working closely with national officials, clubs and Bowls Scotland colleagues. You will also play a central role in modernising competition delivery, particularly at the National Championships and other major competitions.
This flexible role is primarily based at the National Centre for Bowling, Northfield, Ayr, with a combination of home and office working available. The successful candidate will be required to be onsite for the delivery of the National Championships and other competitions as required. The role reports to the Head of High Performance.
