Scotland team announced for 2025 Para Home Nations

Bowls Scotland is delighted to announce the players that have been selected to represent Scotland at the 2025 Para Home Nations.

Scotland will face England, Ireland and Wales at Royal Leamington Spa Bowling Club, England from Friday 27th – Sunday 29th June. A total of 20 players and directors have been selected for the event which will feature six sessions of play over the three days. The matches will feature a mixture of physically disabled and visually impaired singles, pairs and triples.

The team features an experienced lineup with 13 of last year’s winning squad all maintaining their places for 2025’s event. John McDermott, Andrew Shea and Stuart Sloan will all be making their international debuts, whilst Gareth Marshall will feature in his first Para Home Nations after impressing in the test match against Ireland in May. There are also recalls for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sarah Jane Ewing, John Wardrope and Mary Wilson to complete the squad.

Bowls Scotland’s Para Performance Coach, Amanda Easson, said: “The selection team are excited to announce the squad for the Para Home Nations, which will see Ireland compete in the event for the first time.

“20 players and directors have been selected following the Podium Open events and Assessment Weekend. This is an exciting opportunity for our players to showcase their talents in what will be an extremely competitive event at Royal Leamington Spa.
