Para Home Nations - Day 1 Report
Full Report
Scotland got their 2022 Para Home Nations off to a winning start at Solihull Indoor Bowls Club with a 4-3 Victory over Wales.
In the Physically Disabled Singles, Danny Porter ensured the squad had the perfect start with the best performance of the day, ensuring a fantastic 21-3 win, with John Wardrope narrowly missing out on victory in a enthralling last end decider in the other tie.
The physically Disabled Triples also proved to be mixed fortunes with the triple of Garry Hood, Rosemary Lenton and William Nicol taking a 15-9 win holding off a strong mid game charge from Wales.
Team Captain Gary Brown and his rink of Pauline Wilson and Fraser Mathieson got off to a slow start and tried to claw it back, but were unfortunately edged out 16-11.
In the Visually Impaired Pairs, debutants Ian Graham and Sandra Watters lost their opening match, while Melanie Inness won 21-8 in her Singles Match. Robert Barr went into his last end 1 down, and took a fantastic 2 to win his singles match and ultimately win the match for Scotland 4-3.
