Bowls Scotland to live stream all eight days of 2025 National Championships

Bowls Scotland is pleased to announce, that for the first time, all eight days of the 2025 National Championships (Saturday 26th July – Saturday 2nd August) will be streamed live online, available for everyone to view free of charge.

Since 2014, Bowls Scotland has live streamed the final two days of our National Championships each year. Following last year’s National Championships, where we received record viewing figures of over 150,000 viewers, and with the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games now only 12 months away, commitment has been made to live stream all eight days of the event to bring fans from all over Scotland, and further afield, closer to the action.

23 matches will be able available to watch live or on catch up with lead commentary brought to you by BBC Scotland’s Paul Mitchell, Dale Clancy, Stuart McFarlane and Bruce Millar and Bowls Scotland’s U25 Pathway Lead Colin Noon providing co-commentary for the full event. All matches played on Green A Rink 1 will be live streamed on Bowls Scotland’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Play Vision Sports Broadcasting, a broadcast consultancy based in Scotland, dedicated to assisting sports rights holders with the production and distribution of live events, will be providing this year’s live streaming coverage.

Throughout the Championships the Mixed Pairs final, Para Physically Disabled Open Pairs final, Gents Singles final and Ladies Singles final will also be live streamed on the BBC Sport website and BBC iPlayer.

Bowls Scotland’s CEO, Malcolm Dingwall-Smith, said: “We are delighted to provide bowls fans with free live streaming coverage for the full eight days of this year’s Bowls Scotland National Championships. We are investing in increasing our coverage so that our members across Scotland and viewers around the world can watch our best bowlers compete.

“The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games is a great opportunity to get more people watching and playing bowls. Securing BBC coverage for many of our finals is an exciting step forward in promoting a positive and modern image of bowls, as we continue to look for opportunities to increase the visibility of our sport to existing and new audiences.”

Jeremy Bone, Founder & CEO of Play Vision Sports Broadcasting, added: “We are excited to showcase this fantastic event to viewers in Scotland and around the world, with all eight days streamed live for the first time and four finals broadcast live by the BBC.

“It has been great working closely with the team at Bowls Scotland on the broadcast production and distribution of their National Championships and we’re looking forward to the action getting underway next weekend.”
