Local businesses support the 2026 Bowls Scotland National Championships
Bowls Scotland is delighted to welcome Crofthead Holiday Park, Willie Wastle’s and Puffers Café Bistro as sponsors of the 2026 Bowls Scotland National Championships.
The National Championships will take place at the National Centre for Bowling at Northfield, Ayr, from Saturday 8th to Saturday 15th August.
The support of these three Ayrshire businesses will help Bowls Scotland deliver one of the biggest events in the domestic bowling calendar, which brings together qualifiers from clubs across the country and attracts thousands of players, volunteers and spectators.
Set in the Ayrshire countryside close to Ayr’s coastline, Crofthead Holiday Park forms part of Harrison Holidays and offers a range of accommodation, including holiday homes, lodges, caravans and touring pitches. Its location provides visitors with a base from which to enjoy everything Ayrshire has to offer.
Located in the centre of Ayr, Willie Wastle’s is a sports bar and restaurant offering food, drinks and live sport across more than 40 television screens. Its close proximity to Northfield makes it a popular option for visitors looking to enjoy Ayr’s hospitality during their stay.
Puffers Café Bistro is situated at Irvine Harbour beside the Scottish Maritime Museum and offers panoramic views across the Garnock and Irvine River estuaries. The café serves a selection of meals, soups, sandwiches, cakes and drinks in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.
Puffers Café Bistro has already supported bowls events earlier in the 2026 season, providing catering at British Bowls events and Scotland International Squad Days.
Malcolm Dingwall-Smith, Bowls Scotland CEO, said:
“Bowls Scotland is proud to be based in Ayrshire and to work with many local businesses. The Bowls Scotland National Championships bring thousands of people to the area each year and in 2025 the event added £2.25million to the local economy as players and spectators stay in local accommodation and visit local bars and restaurants. We know that the hospitality bowlers receive can be the difference between a good and great trip to our National Championships and we are delighted to have such positive relationships with Crofthead Holiday Park, Willie Wastle’s and Puffers Café Bistro, who are generously putting something back into the sport.”
Bowls Scotland is grateful for the support of Crofthead Holiday Park, Willie Wastle’s and Puffers Café Bistro and looks forward to working with all three businesses ahead of and throughout the 2026 National Championships.
