Sam McClue, Jamie McCarry and Shaun McCarry win 2025 Scottish Cup U18 Triples
Congratulations to Sam McClue, Jamie McCarry and Shaun McCarry on winning the 2025 Scottish Cup U18 Triples at Grangemouth Bowling Club on Sunday 15th June.
The young trio topped Group B with an impressive five wins in five matches to qualify for the knockout stages. Next up for Sam, Jamie and Shaun in the semi-final was the talented team of Frazer Lees, Kayden Young and Thomas Jamieson, who they got the better of 10-9 in a high-quality encounter.
In the final, the team from Lugar Bowling Club and Dumbarton Bowling Club faced Braden Gillies, Lewis Smith and Corey Cadger. Sam, Jamie and Shaun raced into a 7-2 lead after four ends and managed to hold their advantage to clinch the match 8-7 at the completion of the seven ends.
Thanks to all 24 teams that took part in the competition, Bowls Scotland President Keith Fender for presenting the prizes and also Grangemouth Bowling Club for hosting the event.
Unfortunately, the U16 Open Pairs due to be held on Saturday 14th June had to be postponed due to bad weather. The competition will be re-arranged to a later date in the 2025 season.
