Bowls Scotland to launch Official Podcast

Bowls Scotland are delighted to announce we are launching our own official podcast “Rock ‘n’ Bowl” in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland.

This will be our latest way of communicating with our members and discussing different topics within Bowls Scotland whilst covering the sport of bowls from top to bottom.

The show will be hosted by Junior Internationalists Louise Noon and Darren Weir with episodes being released monthly. Listeners will be able to tune into the podcast for free on our social media pages, website, on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon Alexa/Echo devices.

Rock ‘n’ Bowl will feature exclusive interviews, special guests, tournament roundups, CEO business updates, club development work, competitions and giveaways as well as promotional opportunities for our partners.

Our first episode will be available to listen to on Friday 14th February and will feature interviews with High Performance Coach, David Gourlay MBE, and newly crowned Women’s World Indoor Singles champion Julie Forrest.

University of the West of Scotland’s Media Lead and Senior Lecturer for the School of Business and Creative Industries, Elizabeth McLaughlin, said: “I am delighted we have been able to work with Bowls Scotland to provide media and technical support for their ambitious project. Developing effective community and sport partnerships are important to UWS and will further enhance our students’ learning experience.”

Bowls Scotland’s Director of Marketing, Branding and Communications, Thomas Hamilton, said: “We are excited to launch our official “Rock ‘n’ Bowl” podcast in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland this week. Bowls Scotland will become the first home nation governing body to create this platform for our members.

“Communication with our membership has been at the core of our social media delivery over the last few years and this platform adds a new exciting dimension to that. The podcast will cover all areas of bowls in Scotland from grassroots to High Performance and I’m looking forward to hearing from the people making a difference and contributing to our fantastic sport across the country.

“The great thing about the podcast is that you will be able to download it and listen to episodes whenever and wherever you want - making dinner, driving the car or even when you are out cutting the green.”
