Scotland team announced for 2025 Australia and Wales test matches

Bowls Scotland is delighted to announce the players that have been selected to represent Scotland in upcoming international test matches against Australia and Wales.

Following last month’s British Bowls Internationals, Scotland return to Llandrindod Wells Bowling Club to take on Wales from Thursday 4^th – Saturday 6^th September. A total of 34 players have been selected across the men’s, women’s and para categories for this event featuring a blend of experienced internationalists and several new caps.

Scotland’s attention then turns to facing off against Australia at Glasgow Indoor Bowling Club from Saturday 4^th October – Thursday 9^th October for two separate test matches. A total of 40 players have been selected across the men’s, women’s and para categories to compete in this event as part of our preparations for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Looking ahead to both events, Bowls Scotland’s Pathway Lead, Wendy Purdie, said: “This is an exciting time for our recently selected performance players to be given the opportunity to play against formidable opposition in test match conditions and I would like to congratulate all the players selected.

“On the back of the British Bowls Internationals and Para Home Nations, there was closely fought matches against Wales for the Scottish team, and I am sure the test match against Wales will bring more competitive matches between the two countries. 

“We are excited to welcome the Australian team to Glasgow later in the year. For both countries these games will prove to be a vital part in preparations for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. These matches will be played in a highly competitive environment, looking to replicate the format of the 2026 Games and give our team an opportunity to showcase their skills. With this being a home test series, the team would welcome as many supporters as possible during these games to cheer us on.”
