Liz Dickson Obituary

Bowls Scotland are saddened to learn of the passing of former Scottish women’s internationalist, Elizabeth (Liz) Dickson.

Liz was a long-term member of Eyemouth Bowling Club in the Scottish Borders and represented Scotland for 25 years at BIWBC Senior International level from 1998 to 2012. Her greatest achievement came at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada, when she won a bronze medal in the women’s fours alongside Dorothy Barr, Elizabeth (Betty) Forsyth and Janice Maxwell.

A year later Liz and Betty teamed up with Frances Whyte and Eleanor Allan to clinch gold in the women’s fours at the 1995 Atlantic Championships in Durban, South Africa.

Liz was a hugely respected player and much-loved personality throughout the Scottish bowls community that will be sorely missed. We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Liz’s family, friends, and everyone at Eyemouth BC at this incredibly sad time.
