Scotland team announced for 2025 Atlantic International Challenge
Bowls Scotland is delighted to announce the players that have been selected to represent Scotland at the 2025 Atlantic International Challenge.
This is the second year of the Atlantic International Challenge which will see Scotland, Canada, Ireland and USA face off at Windsor Bowling Club, Ontario, Canada from Saturday 20th – Wednesday 24th September.
Scotland have selected a total of 20 players across the men’s, women’s and para categories that will compete against each nation in singles, pairs, triples and fours disciplines throughout the event.
Connor Milne and Gary Prunty will spearhead the men’s team after competing in last year’s Atlantic International Challenge at the National Centre for Bowling, Ayr, Scotland. They are accompanied by Darren Gualtieri, James Hogg, Grant Logan and Ewan Shearer following their strong showing at the 2025 British Bowls Internationals at Llandrindod Wells Bowling Club, Wales.
East Lothian’s Dee Hoggan and Beth Riva also return for the 2025 Atlantic International Challenge after competing in last year’s event on home soil. Joining them for this year’s competition in the women’s side is the experienced quartet of Caroline Brown, Lorna Cameron, Natalie McWilliams and Gail Notman.
Fresh from recently winning the 2025 Para Home Nations at Royal Leamington Spa Bowling Club, England, Jim Aitken, Garry Brown, Sarah Jane Ewing, Ross Noble, Stuart Stevens, John Wardrope and Pauline Wilson will all make the trip to Canada. Alloa East End Bowling Club’s Laura Cluxton completes the para contingent after impressing in test matches against Ireland over the last two years.
Bowls Scotland’s Pathway Lead, Wendy Purdie, said: “I want to congratulate all the players and directors selected for our team that will be attending the Atlantic International Challenge in Windsor, Canada, in September.
“In the second year of this competition taking place, we are pleased it is a fully inclusive international level event where our para bowlers and directors can compete and gain vital experience as part of the Scottish team.
“We look forward to competing against the other countries. I am sure the event will be highly competitive, providing our players stern tests across all the disciplines being contested.”
