Vacancy: National Development Manager

Bowls Scotland is the national governing body of lawn bowls in Scotland.


We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and creative individual to take on the key role within Bowls Scotland of National Development Manager. This post is crucial to delivering the Stronger Clubs section of the new Bowls Scotland strategy and as well as many other essential roles also involves managing the productivity of the 4 officers working in development.


With 849 clubs across Scotland and world class players throughout the country, bowls is one of the largest and most successful of Scotland’s sports. This position is crucial in the work to further support clubs, to continue to encourage new members into clubs as well as catering for the existing 55,000 playing club members Scotland wide.


Your development colleagues will be using our ‘flag ship’ programme Try Bowls, our club accreditation scheme Bowls Mark and our European recognised Coach education scheme to deliver across Scotland. Linking with key local and National partner agencies to assist with the delivery, we need the successful candidate to be out and about letting people know about the benefits to the local communities of Scotland that bowls and bowls clubs can make.
