High Performance Player and Support Coach Recruitment
Now that Bob Christie, Wendy Purdie and Frazer Muirhead have been appointed as our High Performance Head Coaches for 2023, the next steps are to finalise our playing squads and also appoint Support Coaches for the Para, Women and Men’s squads.
For the first time since our High Performance programme was introduced, we are now launching an open application process for para, female and male bowlers to put themselves forward to potentially represent Scotland at British Isles, European and World events. We believe an open and transparent recruitment process is the fairest way of selecting the target of 12 players in our para squad as well as 10 women and 10 men for their respective squads.
Equally, if you are interested in working alongside Bob, Wendy or Frazer as a Support Coach within the programme, applications are now open for anyone that is a member of a Bowls Scotland affiliated club to apply. The role of a Support Coach is to assist the Head Coaches in several areas which may include supporting decision-making, gathering information at squad days, and planning the format and delivery of squad days.
