Sarah Pryde-Smith appointed new National Development Manager

Bowls Scotland is delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Pryde-Smith as the new National Development Manager.

Sarah joins Bowls Scotland from Scottish Swimming, where she was Club Development Manager responsible for the overall strategic leadership and development of stronger, sustainable clubs in Scotland as well as leading a team of five Regional Development Managers. 

She has a real passion and enthusiasm for sport and has been a participant, teacher, coach, volunteer and sports development professional for over twenty years.

As National Development Manager, Sarah will be crucial to delivering the Stronger Clubs section of the new Bowls Scotland strategy and managing the productivity of the four officers working in development.

Sarah, said: “My new role as National Development Manager within Bowls Scotland is a really exciting one for me.  I firmly believe bowling clubs are at the heart of communities across Scotland and I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to work in this environment, using the skills and experience gained throughout my sports development career.  I am really looking forward to working with the team at Bowls Scotland and the wider bowling community.”

Bowls Scotland CEO, Alan McMillan, said: “Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in sports development to Bowls Scotland. Many of the issues that we face in bowls, Sarah has been involved in tackling and overcoming in swimming. We are all looking forward to her starting with us and I am confident that she will continue on the great work we are currently doing within bowls in Scotland.”

Sarah will begin her post with Bowls Scotland on Monday 2nd December 2019.
