Kim McAully appointed new Director of Finance

Following on from our 2020 AGM, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Kim McAully onto the Bowls Scotland Board as our new Director of Finance.

Kim has spent the majority of her professional career working in the finance industry with over 30 years’ experience working across both the private and public sectors.

She spent 16 years working for Angus Council, gaining a wide range of experience across the local authority in different roles. Latterly, Kim was responsible for co-ordinating and reviewing the financial savings to Council budgets as they experienced one of the biggest transformational periods in their history.

Kim has a huge passion for sport and physical activity which runs throughout her family, her mum and dad were bowlers for many years whilst she is a keen walker and completed the 96-mile-long West Highland Way in 2018.

This deep interest in sport led Kim to undertaking a Masters’ Degree in Psychology of Sport and she graduated with Distinction from Stirling University in June 2020. She also spent five years serving on the sportscotland Board, providing her with an excellent understanding of how sport’s National Governing Bodies operate.

Looking forward to starting her new role, Kim said: “I am excited to be joining the Board of Bowls Scotland and being able to use the skills I have gained throughout my life to support clubs and members participating in a sport that provides, not only physical health benefits, but social and mental wellbeing benefits as well.”

Bowls Scotland Chair, Sue Beatt, added: “I am pleased that Kim is joining the Board as the new Director of Finance.

“She has a wealth of experience from working within the finance industry for many years and will play a vital role in assisting us planning our budgets for 2021 and beyond. Kim’s passion for sport and dedication to her profession will make her a welcome addition to the Board.”
