Brandon Miller and Astyn McKechnie win Alan Michie U15 Youth Pairs
Congratulations to Brandon Miller (Wellington Park BC) and Astyn McKechnie (Victoria Greenock BC), who won the inaugural Bowls Scotland Alan Michie U15 Youth Pairs yesterday at Auchterarder Bowling Club.
The Greenock youngsters managed to finish top of their section and qualify for the semi-final stages where they defeated Bronagh and Braden Gillies (The Elgin BC). In the final, they faced Corey Cadger (Fochabers BC) and Lewis Smith (Lossiemouth BC) in a high-quality encounter. After the 30-minute time limit was complete the game was tied at five shots each and a tense extra end took place with Brandon and Astyn eventually prevailing as the winners.
Thanks to all 22 teams that took part in the event, Bowls Scotland Gents President Ron McArthur for presenting the prizes and also Auchterarder BC for their hospitality throughout the day. We now look forward to hosting the Ann Dennis Youth Scottish Cup Triples on Sunday 9th July.
