Scotland v Ireland Para Test Match: Day 1 Session Three Results

Scotland rounded off the first day of their test match against Ireland in style by notching up five wins out of the six matches contested across the Physically Disabled Pairs and Visually Impaired Pairs.

It was one win a piece in the Physically Disabled Pairs as Fraser Mathieson and Stuart Stevens overcame Kevin McManus and Paul Fisher in straight sets. However, Ireland’s Glenn Kaufmann and Brian Smyth got the better of Shazaid Hussain and Garry Brown 2-7 & 3-9 respectively.

In the Visually Impaired Pairs, Scotland recorded a clean sweep of four victories. The three pairings of Sharon Moncrieff & Robert Barr, John Miller & Mary Stevenson and Melanie Inness & James Dick all claimed convincing wins to round off the first day. Laura Cluxton and Ross Noble had a much tighter affair against Norman Rainey and Sam McAfee but eventually came out on top in straight sets winning 7-6 & 9-5.

The final session of the test match will be completed tomorrow morning with Scotland currently holding an unassailable 18 point lead. A report and scores from the fourth session will be provided tomorrow.
