Bowls Scotland takes next step in equality

Bowls Scotland is delighted to announce that it has achieved the intermediate level of the Equality Standard for Sport.

Having already met the foundation and preliminary levels, it was a major focus of Bowls Scotland to reach the next stage as part of our commitment to equality in sport and essentially in bowls.

The fair treatment of all who are involved in lawn bowls is a key area for Bowls Scotland which we are continually working to improve on, a factor in our achievement of the intermediate level.

The Equality Standard for Sport was launched in 2004, with an update and relaunch in 2012, and aims to promote and develop all strands of equality in sport.
