2024 Calendar of Events & Drive to Success Player Pathway launched

Bowls Scotland is delighted to announce the launch of our new podium pathway for all Scottish bowlers, Drive To Success.

Drive To Success outlines the roadmap to progress through the sport from grassroots to international level. It is mapped out in conjunction with our competitive opportunities, and we are delighted to release the 2024 Calendar of Events which brings to life what is available for our bowlers. Kareena Cuthbert, Bowls Scotland’s Head of High Performance Bowls, is excited by the launch of the new podium pathway. She said: “We have been working across all departments within Bowls Scotland to ensure our new Drive to Success vision offers accessible and inclusive opportunities for all our bowlers. The vision is a long term one that encompasses both player and coach development to ensure we have sustainable success in the future at international level.

“One of the questions we are often asked is ‘how do I represent Scotland?’. I believe Drive to Success and our new competitions structure provides clarity and opportunity for our existing bowlers and new players to the sport.

“Now that the vision has been released to our Member Clubs and County Associations, I hope everyone in the Scottish bowling community is excited to support our bowlers in maximising their potential and continuing to produce success on the world stage.

“The next steps for Drive to Success is to launch our player and coach recruitment process in the coming weeks to discover the people with aspirations of engaging with our vision.”

Drive to Success will continue to evolve and develop over time as our sport continues to adapt and modernise. Each update will be reflected on Bowls Scotland’s website.
