Chris Holloway appointed onto Bowls Scotland Board of Directors

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Holloway as a General Director onto the Bowls Scotland Board of Directors.

Chris has a background and wealth of experience spanning over 20 years in the funding and social investment sector. Having begun his professional career with the National Lottery Community Fund, Chris is now the Head of Social Investment at Foundation Scotland. His leadership skills and knowledge of overseeing strategic change will be hugely valuable in implementing Bowls Scotland’s new four-year strategy.

In his spare time, Chris is a passionate volunteer football coach which also enables him to further understand the inner workings of local community sports clubs.

Looking forward to starting his new role, Chris said: “I am pleased to be joining the Bowls Scotland Board of Directors.

“I was attracted to the position as I know that bowling clubs are situated at the heart of many communities. In the challenging times in which we currently live, I would like to see these assets maximised to the benefit of the wider community.

“I have a wide knowledge of the funding environment and of projects that make a real positive difference to places and people. Hopefully these skills will be an asset to the Board as we begin to look ahead to 2024.”

Bowls Scotland Chair, Kim Walker, added: “I am excited to welcome Chris onto the Board.

“His skills and experience will enhance and compliment those that we already have on the Board. In particular, he strengthens our strategic focus and brings new skills in the area of social investment and regeneration.

“Both me and my fellow Board Directors are looking forward to working with Chris and we wish him every success in his new role.”
