International Cap Records

Men's Senior & Junior Internationals

The Senior International Series has been played since 1903. The Series traditionally consisted of 24 players (6 rinks of 4 players with 2 bowls each) playing each country, each rink playing 21 ends.

In 2023, the nations decided to re-vamp the format to a Top 10 format (singles, pairs, triples and fours) with country able to submit two teams. The Series, like before, will be contested annually between Scotland, England, Ireland, Jersey and Wales.

No Series' were held in 2020, 2021 or 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Junior International Series was introduced in 1992 for players under the age of 25. The Series consisted of 24 players (6 rinks of 4 players with 2 bowls each) playing each other country, each rink playing 21 ends.

In 2022, the nations decided to re-vamp the format to be a combined team of 3 rinks of males and 3 rinks of females. Individual trophies for the Men’s Series winner, Women’s Series winner, and Overall Series winner will now be presented to the winning nation in each category. The Series, like before, will be contested annually between Scotland, England, Ireland, and Wales.

No Series’ were held in 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Women's Senior & Junior Internationals

Youth Internationals

Bowls Scotland first competed in the Youth International Series in 2022 for players under the age of 17. The Series consists of 12 players (male and female) playing a number of test matches across two days. Each country receives 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a defeat. The Series is played annually rotating between Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales.
