How you got into Bowls - I had my first introduction to lawn bowls when my retired next-door neighbour took me along to the local bowling club during the summer holidays when I was 7/8 years old and I played with an old jack and bowls on a grass area next to the bowling green. I then, through work colleagues, was re-introduced when I was 24 and have played and enjoyed ever since.

Why you wanted to be a TBA - I have been a bowler for nearly 30 years and in this time, I have not only enjoyed the sport but have made many lifelong friendships. I would like to help promote the sport and give everyone this same opportunity.

What would you say to encourage people to try bowls - Bowling clubs and the action of bowling itself not only provides a great form of aerobic exercise and a means of enjoying fresh air, but they also provide a safe environment to enable people of all age groups (junior, adult and senior) to socialise, make new friends and help improve our mental health and general wellbeing. Lawn bowls is a sport you can play all of your life, at a level that suits the individual, so come along and give it a go, what do you have to lose!
