ERIC MCMILLAN

DOB – 26th July 1950.

Club - Cowdenbeath BC.

How you got into the sport – My wife introduced me to bowls as she played mainstream bowls along with my mother-in-law and father in-law. My wife played to a good standard before she lost her leg and was then selected to play for Scotland in the 2004 World Championships in Malaysia, winning gold in the pairs and silver in the singles.

Bowling Highlights – Coaching Scotland’s para bowlers in all Home Nations and World Championships since 2004. Also being selected as Assistant Manager for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast. In 2021, I reached the final of Cowdenbeath Bowling Club’s gents’ championship and also was selected to play for West Fife County seniors.

Best bowls advice to give – Never give up, always give 100% or if you can’t get the first shot get the second shot.
