MICHAEL SIMPSON

DOB – 15th November 1985.

Club – Strathmiglo BC.

Bowls used – Taylor Ace size 3.

How you got into the sport – I started playing bowls at the age of 9 by attending junior coaching at Auchtermuchty BC. My dad got me started.

Scotland debut – 2009.

Bowling highlights – Representing Scotland at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games has to be up there with the best moments I have experienced in bowls. Also, winning a bronze medal in the 2011 World Championships Pairs and a silver medal in the 2015 World Championships Mixed Pairs.

Most embarrassing moment on the green – Not long after having gotten back on the greens after losing my legs I was playing in a game and didn't notice that my leg was on wrong which unknown to me was causing my foot to point out to the side. Luckily someone I was playing with pointed it out to me so I had to make a small adjustment to my leg whilst sitting on the banking.
