FRAZER MUIRHEAD
DOB - 8th September 1961.
Club – Bankton Mains BC.
How you got into the sport – At the age of 8 I helped to lay out some pebbles with my dad and grandad when they were marking out areas of the green to scarify. I was allowed to play with small wooden bowls at weekend when they were cutting the grass.
Bowling Highlights – Scottish singles champion 1981 when I was 19 years old (still the youngest ever)
British Isles singles champion 1982
Played Senior Internationals for Scotland in 1983 and 1990
Played Junior and Senior Internationals for Scotland indoor
Scottish indoor national fours and two-bowl pairs winner
Bowls Scotland National Academy Coach for 2 years
Best bowls advice received – Bob Sutherland once told me: “If you get a chance to win a game, take it as you might never get another chance.”
Best bowls advice to give – Be confident in your own ability as there are plenty people out there who will try to put you down.
