COLIN NOON

DOB – 20th November 1970.

Club – Ayr Craigie BC.

How you got into the sport – I was introduced to the sport by my dad at Gullane BC in East Lothian when I was around 11 and realised I could compete quite quickly.

Bowling Highlights – I’ve been really fortunate to play with and against some of the greats in the Scottish game over the years but was never quite talented enough to be capped. My personal highlights are several County Championships in numerous disciplines, skipping in the AHT and managing to win 15 club championships at 7 different clubs. These days I much prefer utilising my leadership and coaching skills to develop players to be the very best they can be.

Best bowls advice received – “Control the controllables”, never losing sight of your goal even when it gets tough.

Best bowls advice to give – “The only bowl that matters is the one in your hand”, you can’t change what’s gone before but you can influence what’s going to happen next!
